Animating Stop-Motion Characters at Aardman – TESTED

TESTED’s Adam Savage recently ventured to the UK’s legendary stop motion studio Aardman to learn more about what it takes to produce stop motion animation. In this video Adam talks to animation director Will Becher about the puppets and the animation process that was used in making of Aardmans recent film release EARLY MAN. They discuss boiling of the clothing and fur on the puppets, along with the clay silicone used and the techniques used to achieve the look and feel of the stop motion animated film. Check it out below.
