Wevr Transport – Virtual Reality Streaming Service

Located in Venice California a start up company by the name of Wevr is building a YouTube like service focused solely on Virtual Reality technology. The company so far has raised $25 million from investors and will launch the service under the name Transport. Currently in private beta, this VR content network will be compatible with Google Cardboard, Samsung Gear VR, HTC Vive, Facebook’s Oculus Rift, and Sony’s PlayStation VR.

As part of their initial round of creator content for garnering an audience, Wevr has sought the talents of Tyler Hurd, and Stop Motion / VFX Master Phil Tippett. These new colaborations will most likely generate some impressive content for future audiences.

According to an article posted on Fortune.com, Neville Spiteri is quoted “Transport is purpose-built to extend and embrace VR creative’s aspirations with software solutions, enabling them to create, produce, distribute, and grow audiences on all headsets worldwide,”
